We hope our vacation rental home will be comfortable for many wheelchair-users and slow walkers. On this page we describe and picture what we’ve learned is most important from hosting families at our wheelchair accessible cabins in the Smokies.
Contact us if you have specific questions or concerns not covered. We’ll do our best to answer or find out.
The front entrance is zero step and we have a 2′ portable ramp available upon request if needed to navigate the 3.5″ step out the french doors to the lanai.
The living/dining room furniture is easily shifted as needed. The 1st floor master bedroom suite has a 33″ high open-frame bed. There is a step stool in the kitchen pantry.
The 1st floor master bathroom has a roll-in shower with handheld showerhead, pedestal sink and grab bars.
The kitchen itself has full size appliances but with only 36″ access between the counters, the cooking will be best left to others — or visit the fine restaurants over at the hotel and down Sunset Walk.
Relax and enjoy family time. The daily resort fee of just $35 includes access to the pools and games at the Fins Up Beach Club.
For an additional fee, enroll your children in the Parakeets Kid’s Club. Trained counselors will keep them safely entertained. We saw them in action during our January visit, and applaud the way they were able to happily engage a young autistic guest.
Remember to request the shower stool and/or lanai access ramp well before you arrive from our property manager Ace Hospitality.
